LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Four teams remain perfect, including the top three, after seven weeks of the NFCA Summer/Fall High School Top 25 Coaches Poll.
Georgia’s East Coweta (24-0), Oklahoma’s Pocola (29-0) and Nebraska’s Gretna (30-0) continue to set the pace atop the national rankings, with Colorado’s Broomfield (20-0) inching one spot closer to that trio following then-No. 6 North Cobb’s 8-1 loss to fourth-ranked Buford (21-1) in last Saturday’s matchup of top 10 teams.
Lutheran (16-1) and Dale (35-1) also gained ground this week, while newcomer Grain Valley (28-1), which has wins over No. 21 Blue Springs South and No. 22 Raymore-Peculiar this season and split with then-No. 13 Owasso last weekend, jumps into the mix in the No. 9 position. Wesleyan (20-1) continues to round out the first 10.
A 6-0 week moved Lincoln Southwest (27-3), which outscored its opponents 70-5 over that stretch, up two spots to No. 14, while three losses slid Pope (15-7) from 18th to 25th.
Silver Creek (13-7), which lost two more games and has dropped five of its last eight, fell out of the rankings.
State rankings submitted by the 2024 NFCA High School Steering Committee are used to compile the NFCA Summer/Fall High School Top 25 Coaches Poll. Teams are chosen based on performance, roster quality and strength of schedule.
