LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Twenty six student-athletes from 18 California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) programs were honored as the NFCA announced its 2026 Cal JC All-America teams on Wednesday afternoon.
The North Region’s College of San Mateo and the South Region’s Palomar College paced all schools with five and four recipients, respectively. The five nods matched a program record set in 2021, while it is the fourth consecutive year a quartet of Comets earned All-America status. Long Beach City College (South), with two plaudits, was the only other program with multiple All-Americans.
Of the 26 awardees, Cerritos pitcher Tatyana Cortez and Palomar’s Lauren Doepping at DP or Utility/Non-Pitcher are two-time All-Americans. Cortez was tabbed the South’s 3C2A Pitcher of the Year leading the Falcons to the two seed in the south. The sophomore hurler finished her season 27-7 with a 2.38 ERA and a state-best 238 strikeouts over 196.2 innings. Doepping was named to the 3C2A All-State South team and is currently batting .402 with four doubles, 12 home runs, 50 RBI and the fourth-best (tie) on-base percentage at .574.
Joining Doepping on the All-America squad are pitcher Kiara Flaviani (34-1, 1.91 ERA, 141 K, 15 CG), 3C2A South Player of the Year Alexis Huey (.556, 75 H, 12 2B, 6 3B, 21 HR, 67 RBI, 1.200 SLG, .620 OBP) and outfielder Gisele Gonzalez (.398, 49 H, 37 R, 11 2B, 3 3B, 40 RBI). This quartet has spearheaded a 39-1 campaign and a South Region No. 1 seed. The Comets are on a 27-game win streak heading into the South Super Regionals.
The North’s No. 1 team heads into the Super Regional powered by its five All-Americans, which includes the Northern Player of the Year, Nia Mapa (DP or Utility/Non-Pitcher). Mapa is currently slashing .463/.550/.954 with 15 long balls, 40 runs scored and 42 RBI, while also helping out in the circle (9-0, 1.43 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 49 IP). Also earning All-America status for the 39-1 Bulldogs are pitcher Lola Sierra (23-1, 1.68 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, 16 BB, 129 IP), catcher Love Cabanas (.448, .518 OBP, 8 HR, 32 RBI), second baseman Hannah Ames (.464, .535 OBP, .988 SLG, 11 2B, 11 HR, 34 RBI, 31 R) and outfielder Ale Phillips (.441, .508 OBP, .775 SLG, 7 2B, 3 3B, 7 HR, 42 R).
Long Beach City’s All-America battery of pitcher Ella Haugo (15-0, 1.69 ERA, 101 K, 1.21 WHIP) and catcher Zara Mineo (.533, .574 OBP, 1.049 SLG, 17 2B, 8 3B, 10 HR, 46 RBI) keyed the fifth-seeded Vikings to a sweep of Chaffey College, advancing to the South Super Regional this upcoming weekend at Mt. San Antonio College.
San Joaquin Delta’s Elisa Galli (24-4, 1.69 ERA, 2 SV, 190 K, 29 BB, 0.93 WHIP, 207.2 IP) and Sierra College’s Lilianna Cruz (16-8, 3.28 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 146 K) join Lola Sierra as the North’s All-America pitching trio. Taft first baseman Jasmine Estrada (.459, .713 SLG, 12 2B, 5 3B, 43 RBI, 33 R, 2 K), Fresno City third baseman Sydney Yep (.454, .521 OBP, .748 SLG, 11 2B, 8 HR, 43 RBI, 17 BB, 42 R) and Cabrillo shortstop Ariyah Morgan (.480, .533 OBP, .824 SLG, 58 RBI, 16 BB, 10 2B, 9 3B, 46 R, 15 SB) finalize the North’s infield with Feather River’s McKynlee Gay (.500, .535 OBP, 5 3B, 55 R, 13 SB) and Santa Rosa’s Kylee Bauman (.400, .826 SLG, 9 2B, 12 HR, 32 RBI, 45 R) rounding out the region’s outfield. Cosumnes River’s Zochitl Atayde (.316, 4 2B, 10-8, 111 K, SV) collected the Joan Joyce Utility/Pitcher honor.
The final pieces of the South’s infield are Orange Coast second baseman Jaden Fraser (.456, .476 OBP, 14 2B, 3 3B, 35 R), Antelope Valley third baseman Jordyn Zinn (.484, .514 OBP, 1.000 SLG, 57 RBI, 52 R) and Mt. SAC shortstop Sarai Raygoza (.426, .534 OBP, 18 2B, 29 BB, 50 R, 23 SB). The final two outfielders are Citrus’ Alivia Martinez (.457, .544 OBP, .848 SLG, 43 RBI, 21 2B, 7 3B, 8 HR, 71 R, 38 SB) and Cuesta’s Cierra Cloud (.515, .567 OBP, .905 SLG, 15 2B, 8 3B, 6 HR, 47 R, 20 SB). Southwestern’s Iliana Romero (.433, .458 OBP, 9 2B, 2 3B, 29 R) is the Joan Joyce Utility/Pitcher recipient.
The Utility/Pitcher award honors the late Joan Joyce, an NFCA Hall of Famer, unparalleled two-way player, and pioneer of women’s sports.
NFCA Cal JC All-America athletes must be nominated by their NFCA-member head coaches and are voted for by the coaches in their region to receive this prestigious accolade.
